General Warren Inn:
A Fine Dining Restaurant & Historic
Bed and Breakfast in Chester County Pennsylvania
Today's guest at the historic General Warren will find the perfect blend of old world charm, excellence in American cuisine, and fine wines. Executive Chef Joshua Smith leads our team of culinary talent. Local to Chester County, Joshua uses local sourced foods and classic techniques to create amazing dishes, having apprenticed and mentored with many of the local chefs in the suburban Philly food scene. General Warren's chefs strive to include as many gluten free and wheat free items as possible in each course at dinner and curbside carryout "to go".
Black Powder Tavern
As Reviewed by County Lines Magazine:
It’s always good to honor our nation’s history, and Black Powder Tavern does it with a bang and with class in its wellpreserved building that has stood strong since 1746. The popular restaurant’s name salutes the black powder munitions stash kept there for George Washington and the Continental Army trying to survive an earlier horrendous winter, the one of 1777-78 at nearby Valley Forge.
The broad range and variety of popular American dishes, many creatively interpreted—shaved and grilled Broccoli Salad, for example—means there’s something for everyone. Large portions prevail, even when they’re “small plates,” which we found perfect for sharing. There was no resisting the crusty, Italian-style bread, which we were told comes from Tribeca and is baked in-house.
Open 7 days a week with live music every Friday night in our Bar area—Happy Hour is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the bar area. Musical acts will vary.
