History Speaks: The Forgotten Col. Joshua Fry

Frank Kurtik will be joining us on January 25 for his lecture, “The Forgotten Colonel Joshua Fry.” We’re excited to learn about a man largely forgotten in history. Had it not been for Fry’s sudden death in 1754, his command of the Virginia Regiment would not have passed to a young man named George Washington.
Frank is a long-time researcher, writer and lecturer on Western Pennsylvania history. After earning an M.A. in History from Duquesne University, he’s had a long career in public history, most recently as a docent with the Heinz Memorial Chapel.
